Gabriella Giuliani

Creative Designer

Helllo, I am Gabriella Giuliani a certified California Native Landscape Designer and Fine Gardener. I love gardening and spending time outside in the Bay Area. I am a native San Franciscan with roots from Italy.

I created this space online to chronicle my work and my explorations of other gardens with the idiom,

"the grass is always greener on the other side"

Thanks to the Alice Eastwood Scholarship, the San Francisco Garden Club I traveled to the other side in Italy and sought out Agritourisms near my paternal lineage's natale towns and visited an Etruscan necropolis.

On this trip I worked on a didactic farm, WOOFered, and visited various botanical institutions from arboretum, to villa, to sculpture garden, to those with a nursery attached.

Contemporary Design

Thanks to my employer, Julie Shift of Wild Natives my landscape design was featured in the Noe Valley Garden tour in April of 2023:

"Crest Hill Behind an ornate iron gate, you will find a historic property featuring a beautiful Italian fountain.

The home, with its stunning views atop Liberty Hill, was originally built and owned by the longest sitting mayor of San Francisco and former California governor James Rolph Jr., locally known as “Sunny Jim.”

In the newly renovated front garden, colorful plants spread throughout well established ceanothus, spruce, and palm trees. There is even a lovely bed of roses."

I completed the California Native Plant Landscaper Certification in August 2024.

Contact me via email. To me the grass is always greener on the otherside.
